Edinburgh Film Festival launches 75th anniversary programme

The festival will show a wide range of feature films starring the likes of Colin Farrell, Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Paul Mescal.

Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) has launched the programme for its 75th anniversary, which will feature films starring Colin Farrell, Dolly Parton and Jane Fonda.

Established in 1947, the Edinburgh International Film Festival is renowned around the world for discovering and promoting the very best in international cinema

Edinburgh Filmhouse is the festival's home. The festival uses a range of other cinemas and venues across the city including Fountainpark Cineworld, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, VUE Cinema at the Omni Centre and the Odeon.

Palestinian director Maha Haj’s drama Mediterranean Fever, US musician and filmmaker Amanda Kramer’s musical queer thriller Please Please Me, and Peter Strickland’s Flux Gourmet will be among the 10 feature films competing in the rebooted competition strand for the new Powell and Pressburger Award.
