New Zealand – The Perfect Destination for Adventurers and Nature Lovers

New Zealand is a unique biodiversity hotspot. This means that there are many different species from various periods of geological history living here and that it’s important for the biodiversity of the living world in general. These islands have been isolated from other continents for millions of years, so you’ll find unique and fascinating flora and fauna, even some animals from the dinosaur period.

As an island country, New Zealand is easily accessible by plane. There are some great and affordable flights to NZ from UK, which will allow you to escape your everyday life, substitute coworkers for exotic animals, and the office for active volcanos.

Meet some of the peculiar animals

Thanks to the millions of years of geographical isolation, New Zealand is home to some weird creatures. One of the most charming is the flightless bird kiwi which has become known throughout the world. Aside from kiwi, there are some other flightless birds which you can’t meet anywhere else. Then there’s the kea, a truly intelligent bird famous for destroying cars and motorbikes in search of food.

New Zealand is also home to the world’s smallest dolphin species – the Hector’s dolphin, and if you’re lucky, you might even be able to swim amongst them. Here you’ll also find the only living reptile which evolved in the era of the dinosaurs – the tuatara.

This country is an ornithologist’s heaven with a lot of amazing and scientifically interesting bird species, but there are also many more animal and plant species native to these islands.

Discover hikes with beautiful scenery

New Zealand is full of different geomorphological peculiarities, so there are many amazing hiking routes. Every island in the archipelago has something unique, but we can only number a few places you shouldn’t skip.

There’s the White Island which is an active cone volcano. You can visit it by booking a tour and rest assured that it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Then there’s the Tongariro Alpine crossing which is one of the most popular and beautiful hikes imaginable. Here you’ll also encounter active volcanos and the trail isn’t for everyone so make sure you’re ready and equipped. However, those who are in good shape will truly enjoy these beautiful hikes.

If you’re more interested in water activities, visit Abel Tasman National Park which has several marvellous beaches and crystal-clear sea. You can rent a kayak or simply enjoy the coast – it’s all up to you.

One spot you simply must visit is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Fiordland National Park where you’ll discover alpine lakes, glaciers, dense ancient forests and fiords. No matter how long you stay here, you’ll never run out of things to discover, but it’s important to remember that human activity in Fiordland is limited and the level of conservation is high.

You can’t go wrong whatever you choose to visit in New Zealand so go ahead and book a flight!
