London Fashion Week- All You Need to Know!

What is London Fashion  Week?

London Fashion Week celebrates fashion with Brits, lovers of fashion, buyers, and the media twice a year in the months of February and September.

The London Fashion Week, which is sponsored by Mercedes-Benz and organized by the British Fashion Council, a non-profit organization, presents creations from over 250 designers to a global audience by holding catwalk shows, designer showrooms, and static presentations. An estimated 100 million pounds worth of orders is placed during London Fashion Week.

The event, which primarily caters to industry professionals, features the newest collections from a wide range of renowned British designers for the next season. Journalists and photographers covering the fashion industry report on the collections and forecast emerging trends here, which are subsequently seen by the general public online and in print publications.

Together with the major glossy magazines, buyers from retailers like Harvey Nichols and Selfridges and celebrities are frequently there to choose the trends they want to buy (or, if their celebrities, wear) for the upcoming season.

When will London Fashion week happen in 2023?

The dates of London Fashion Week in 2023 are February 17–21. The itinerary may be downloaded from the British Fashion Council’s or London Fashion Week’s official websites.

16 February 2023

The main event of the unofficial first day of London Fashion is a late-night screening of the new sustainable fashion documentary Fashion Reimagined.

The day is primarily made up of invite-only launch events and parties. The details of this fascinating new movie, which will be released in theatres in March, are provided below.

17 February 2023

On Friday, the season officially kicks off with more than 30 live performances and activities happening all around London.

Among the highlights, we’re anticipating include Paul Costelloe opening the season with a runway at 9 am, a world-building exhibition by Bora Aksu, and a student-led catwalk performance from the London College of Fashion,  in the evening.

18 February 2023

With 22 events and presentations happening all across the city, this is a major day for London Fashion Week.

Expect to witness the glitzy London label 16Arlington debuting its latest womenswear line, a vibrant catwalk presentation from British designer Molly Goddard in the afternoon, and this year’s Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Winner, Richard Quinn, leaving his mark on the runway in the evening.

19 February 2023

On Sunday, there are additional 18 live activities that we can look forward to, ranging from presentations and catwalks to social gatherings.

British fashion icon JW Anderson presents his AW23 collection on the catwalk in the morning, while Irish designer Simone Rocha, whose work is reminiscent of fairy tales, does the same in the afternoon.

20 February 2023

It just means the next 15 shows to watch. Emilia Wickstead, a favourite of the royal family, will present on the catwalk in the morning, followed by immersive presentations for attendees of London Fashion Week by the Canadian-British label Edeline Lee and the London-based womenswear brand RIXO in the afternoon, and a catwalk presentation by royal warrant holder Burberry to close out the evening.

21 February 2023

Tuesday is the final day of the programme, and with only five exhibitions scheduled for the day, we anticipate that designers will begin to leave the city once the day’s events are over.

The primary event of the day is a Ukrainian Fashion Week presentation, which begins at 10 a.m. with runway shows by designers FROLOV, KSENIASCHNAIDER, and PASKAL.

Where will London Fashion Week be held?

Somerset House in the heart of London served as the location for London Fashion Week for many years. Locations have, however, frequently varied over the past few years in an effort to show participants the many sides of the British city.

The venues of shows are frequently disclosed closer to the day and are normally invite-only. The London Fashion Week website will have videos of the shows available. At several sites across the capital, a mix of runway displays, presentations, and events will be held.

How to book tickets to London Fashion Week?

Sadly, the big exhibitions are invite-only and only open to individuals in the business, but there are a variety of activities the general public may attend every week.

You can find out precisely where and when these Citywide Celebration activities are by using this helpful map on the London Fashion Week website.

In conjunction with the City Wide Celebration, a variety of “special events” will also be offered throughout London Fashion Week.

Designer Q&A sessions, live music performances, the release of limited edition products, seminars on upcycling and zero waste craftsmanship, and limited edition product drops are just a few of the events planned. In all, approximately 450 activities are planned throughout a number of the city’s shops and retail areas.

A number of the most interesting up-and-coming designers currently active in and around London will be seen at SS23, including Lula Laora, a recent Central Saint Martins graduate, Fashion East’s Karoline Vitto, and Ukrainian designer Masha Popova.

The Big Smoke, a new immersive Genius idea from Moncler, is the centre of attention as Daniel Lee makes his debut for Burberry. This season’s showcase is going to feature many presentations from debut labels and NEWGEN designers in addition to industry mainstays like Daniel W. Fletcher, JW Anderson, and Molly Goddard.
