Javea: The Best City to Live by the Sea!

Javea is a cozy town located in the north of the province of Alicante, better known to tourists as the Costa Blanca. 27,600 people live here (according to the 2019 census), more than half of which are foreigners, mostly Europeans, residents of the UK and the USA.

Beautiful examples of ancient architecture, scattered throughout the central part of the city organically combine with modern infrastructure. The new property in Javea, which is being actively built by construction companies, creates cozy neighborhoods that do not diminish the attractiveness of the town in any way. Many beautiful villas, townhouses, duplexes and residential complexes with apartments are designed in a way that does not overcrowd the outskirts of Javea.

The terrain of Javea is also extremely diverse: everything that nature has to offer is within the limits of one city: uplands and lowlands, valleys and plains, mountains, sheer cliffs, beaches and bays, dense forests and parks. Here you will find all kinds of nature’s creations that will never let you get bored and stay in one place. City parks and squares, which are well-kept and regularly cleaned, are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Here you can play sports, spend time with your family or just enjoy the surroundings on one of the many benches.

Weather and climate in Javea

Javea is a sunny city with a dry climate (average annual precipitation in the city is no more than 336 mm), 320 sunny days a year and a high average temperature. Due to its favorable location, there is practically no gusty wind and rain, and the concept of high and low season is extremely blurry. It is equally comfortable to live and relax here from June to October, as the water temperature remains comfortable for swimming.

During the hottest months (July, August and September), the sea temperature can reach 26 degrees, while in October and June it rarely drops below 22 degrees Celsius. Thanks to this, the influx of tourists here is hardly ever sudden: the city always copes with a stable and smooth flow of foreigners without causing discomfort for local residents.

Infrastructure

You can easily get from modern residential complexes to the beaches and the central part of Javea even without a car. The infrastructure was thoroughly developed both inside the city and outside it. For example, you can reach the main airport in the region, in the city of Alicante, by car in just 45 minutes. Calpe with its luxurious skyscrapers and numerous shops, restaurants and nightlife can be reached in 15-20 minutes. Another popular city, Denia, is located just 11 kilometers from the center of Javea.

You can get to the heart of the nightclub life in an hour by sea – the island of Ibiza, which is located 90 kilometers from the coast or 1.5 hours of traveling. All road connections are modern routes with perfect coverage and everything you need along the way for a comfortable and safe trip.

What can you do in Javea?

Whether you own a property in Javea or just come here as a tourist, you will have access to numerous activities that will not leave you indifferent. There is something to do for people of all ages and preferences! Here is just a small list of things you can do:

This is a traditional game of the Spaniards, which consists in escaping from angry bulls along the old streets. At the end of June, tourists can enjoy the Fire Festival, which includes fireworks, parades, exhibitions of various figures, bullfights, lots of delicious street food and much more.

Visit local establishments

Javea is a resort town, and therefore there is everything for the entertainment of tourists: themed and traditional bars and cafes, restaurants and clubs, entertainment venues, shops and shopping centers. You can easily find where to eat or have a good time.

Workout

There is no better place for doing sports than Javea! Local residents and tourists are not averse to spending time actively here, and therefore a significant part of the city’s infrastructure has been designed for athletes. There are plenty of jogging trails, sports grounds, gyms, three tennis courts, and the beaches offer a huge range of water sports, from surfing to diving, kayaking and more.

Relax on the beach

The amazing climate and warm seawater could not but make the local beaches the main entertainment for locals and tourists. In Javea, the coastline is 25 kilometers long, along which you will find a huge number of clean and cozy spots, including equipped beaches. The most popular beach is El Arenal, with a sandy shore, awarded a Blue Flag for cleanliness, many food establishments and shops nearby, as well as other advantages. For those who want to be closer to nature, Javea even has a nudist beach.

This is only a small part of everything that this city has to offer you. Be sure that even after years of living here, you will not get bored, as you will regularly discover its new facets and options for an exciting pastime.
